The Hyundai Accent Atlantic is a new addition to the Hyundai line-up and replaces both the previous Accent and the Elantra, both of which have now been deleted from the UK range.
A 1.4 litre petrol engine three-door hatchback, the Accent Atlantic comes complete with air-conditioning and alloy wheels and a high-mounted rear spoiler with stop light. It will be available from launch on August 1 with three years’ free servicing until the end of September. It is priced at £8,995 on-the-road.
Standard equipment includes electric front windows, driver and passenger airbags, remote central locking, 60/40 split folding rear seat, front fog lights, stereo RDS/CD player and a trip computer.
The new Getz Atlantic adds rear roof spoiler with brake light, colour-coded carpet mats and carbon grain interior trim to the CDX version of the three-door 1.1 model. It is priced at £600 less at £7,290 OTR and includes three years’ free servicing.
Hyundai’s Coupe has also been given an Atlantic derivative. There will be 500 of these models made. It is based on the existing 2.0 SE with manual transmission, is offered in a choice of dark navy blue, ‘samba red’ or ‘smart silver’.
Specification added to the usual SE includes colour-coded mats, six-disc CD changer, climate control with air quality control system, auto-dimming rear-view mirror and automatic lights-on control. It is priced at £16,670 OTR.
