The Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMIF) has appointed Josephine Perry as head of public affairs as part of its new strategy to increase its campaigning and lobbying activity.

Perry joins the RMIF from her position as public affairs manager at Edexcel, the largest awarding body in the UK.

She will report directly to RMIF chief executive Matthew Carrington and will oversee the Federation’s lobbying in the UK and Brussels. Also she will co-ordinate the organization’s public affairs activity across all areas, notably the franchised and independent sectors.

Matthew Carrington says: “We are delighted that Josephine has joined us and her arrival will mark a significant increase in our lobbying activity to the benefit of all members. This key appointment will ensure that the RMIF continues to strengthen its influence on the public affairs stage, through liaison with MPs and key political and industry stakeholders.”

Perry has worked in public affairs for six years. Prior to Edexcel, she worked in the external relations team at the Royal Mail Group and was an account manager at Weber Shandwick Public Affairs, London.
