Toyota has created a Platinum version of its Aygo model to tempt buyers in the New Year.

On sale from January, the Aygo Platinum has £1,555-worth of additional equipment beyond the range-topping Aygo+ according to Toyota, but costs £550 extra.

Standard equipment includes Alcantara and leather upholstery and 14-inch turbine alloy wheels with locking nuts. There is also crystal silver metallic paint exclusive to the Platinum model.

Aygo Platinum is available in both three and five-door body styles, powered by Toyota’s 1.0 VVT-i petrol engine, which returns 61.4mpg.

On-the-road prices are £7,995 for the three-door model and £8,245 for the five-door.
