Bespoke exhaust builder Magnaflow UK is aiming for a countrywide network of installers by the end of this year following the successful recruitment of 12 garages and workshops since January 2007.

The supplier marked the completion of the first stage of its programme with a visit from 1978 Formula One world champion and Magnaflow customer Mario Andretti, who was shown around the workshop at DRM Motorsport, one of the new installers.

Paul Tomlinson, head of distributor Nemesis UK, said: “The installer concept has taken off superbly since we launched it in January and we fully expect to have a UK network of 50 garages and workshops on board come the end of the year.

“The impressive take up goes to show that the UK independent garage sector is willing to take advantage of new opportunities when they come along and I know these businesses are going to be much stronger as a result of them joining the Magnaflow network.”

Franchisees are offered on-site training, as well as extensive marketing support through Magnaflow UK’s website and print based advertising in several large magazines. As well as building bespoke performance exhaust systems, dealers will be able to supply off the shelf systems direct from Magnaflow’s factory in the USA.

Established in 1902, Magnaflow supplies bespoke performance exhaust systems via a large network of dealers in the USA, including renowned custom car builder and star of American Hotrod Boyd Coddington.

Magnaflow UK is aiming to establish a network throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland spread out by population. Applications from potential dealers are being accepted through the company’s website.
