Law: Data Protection – final parts in force from 24th October 2007

One particular part relating to manual records created before 24th October 1998 is finally brought into the full requirements of the Data Protection Act.

At the moment a data controller of such information is not bound by the first five principles of the DPA.

There is no need for such records to be electronically processed; they can remain as manual records.
