Its new website (www.r2rc.co.uk) details the campaign objectives. It fears that lack of affordable access to technical and diagnostic information will leave independent garages unable to repair modern cars.
R2RC’s UK strategy group includes several high profile figures from the independent aftermarket, including Group Auto Union managing director Jim Mazza, Sykes Pickavant managing director Peter Coombes, Kwik-Fit managing director David White and representatives of the GEA, Independent Garages Association, National Tyre Distributors Association and the SMMT’s Aftermarket Division.
The campaign plans to set up focus groups for lobbying, marketing and analysis.
