Cambria Motors has bought four Fiat dealerships from Caledonia Motors which went into administration on January 14.

The sites in Blackburn, Preston, Warrington and Oldham means 115 jobs have been saved and take Cambria’s group turnover to £315 million.

This is Cambria’s second large acquisition within a month after it bought the Summit Auto Group on December 31.

Caledonia put all of its dealerships into receivership on January 14 and alerted staff that dealerships in Blackpool, Newport, Manchester and Chester would be closed, resulting in 78 redundancies.

Dermot Power, business restructuring partner at BDO Stoy Hayward who are handling Caledonia's administration, said: "The sale of the four sites to Cambria protects 115 jobs in the region - well over half of the total Caledonia Motor Group employees. As a leading player in the automotive market, we believe that Cambria have acquired some sites with strong potential.”
