Whitehouse Group is nearing the end of restructuring that will see it focus on its three Chrysler Group dealerships in Kent.

AM reported in December that the dealer group had sold its Renault outlets in Orpington and Dartford to Renault Retail Group.

That followed the sale in January of Tunbridge Wells Renault to Lifestyle Europe.

Now the family-owned retailer is seeking to complete its final disposals – a Volkswagen commercial vehicle outlet at Tonbridge and a closed dealership at Bromley.

Peter Reynolds, White-house deputy chairman until he retired, has been helping with the disposals. "We had hoped to sell the two Renault sites to a franchised dealer group by last spring,” he told AM.

“The deal did not happen because Renault UK raised some problems. We had to wait longer but we met our expectations on price."

The Whitehouse family will continue to run its Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealerships at Tonbridge, Maidstone and Bexleyheath. The Bexleyheath operation has won the best dealer award from Chrysler Group for the past two years.
