A merger between two accident management companies in Yorkshire has created RVM Auto Assist.

The combined operation, formed by a partnership between Tracey Taylor, founder of Hull-based Auto Assist, and Paul Rose, founders of Leeds business RVM Assist, will deal with 8,000 claims a year and provide cover to 100,000 motorists nationally.

Rose said: “There is a definite synergy between the two businesses.

“While a lot of our expertise is in similar areas, there are also some significant and complementary differences which will enhance our combined service offering.

Hull brings its expertise in running a rental fleet to the Leeds operation while Leeds brings its knowledge of the legal expense insurance market to the Hull operation.

“Overall, we have a broader market appeal with increased resources and skills internally.”

RVM Assist was set up by Rose in 1998 to provide a total claims outsource service to the high street insurance broker market.

Auto Assist, started by Taylor in the same year, targeted vehicle repairers, dealers and taxi fleets.

Taylor said: “The two businesses have built excellent reputations over the last 10 years.

“Between us we have an excellent base of fleet, repairer, dealer and broker connections.”
