US car sales heavily slumped in October, echoing the current struggle in the UK market.

Sales of high-end marques Porsche and Mercedes-Benz fell by 50% and 25% respectively, while Nissan was down 33%, reported The Daily Telegraph.

General Motors said car and light truck sales dropped 45% from a year earlier.

GM North America executive Mark LaNeve said: “This is probably the worst industry sales month in the post-WW2 era.”
