Easy access makes the internet convenient for jobhunters Motor trade jobseekers are increasingly using the internet to hunt for their next job.

Almost half (43%) of jobhunters now search for employment opportunities via the web, according to a recent survey.

A further 38% use traditional means, such as recruitment agencies and 19% prefer to apply for jobs through the post.

David Southgate, Southgate Consulting director, said: “There has been a marked increase in internet usage for career moves over the last two to three years within the sector.

“Quick and easy access to recruitment websites and listings, such as am-online, make it convenient for individuals at all levels to keep an eye on career opportunities that are relevant to their specific skill sets.

“There are a few industry leading publications which have a controlled circulation, and it may be that these publications do not reach everyone within a specific business.

Therefore, internet access is more readily available.”
