Motor Codes has announced the service providers for the new Motor Industry Code of Practice for Service and Repair, ahead of the consumer launch on August 29.

Compliance checks will be handled by the RAC, which will be responsible for ensuring that subscribers fulfil the requirements of the code.

Unannounced visits will be carried out every two years, with follow-up checks for garages who do not meet the criteria.

Customer contract specialist Percepta UK will collect feedback about customer experiences through forms distributed at subscriber garages.

The company will also be in charge of the freephone consumer advice line, offering advice and guidance to callers and helping establish whether the complaint is genuine.
