Kia’s import operation at Killingholme, near Grimsby, has processed its 100,000th car, three years after opening.

The site was relocated in 2005 to cope with growing business demand.

Operated by GBA, the facility can accommodate deep-sea carriers capable of carrying more than 8,000 vehicles.

The 100,000th car was a red Pro cee’d 2.0 CRDi Sport, headed for a Kia dealership in Southampton.

Killingholme has 86 acres of space which includes a workshop, paint shop and facilities to undertake PDI and enhancement work.

Hamish McCowan, after sales and logistics director at Kia UK said: “To reach this important milestone of 100,000 vehicles dispatched in such a short time is testimony to the effort everyone connected with the operation has put into delivering a first class service."
