Auto-electrical business Wood Auto has become
sole distributor for MonarkDiesel, a German diesel injection company.

While MonarkDiesel works with another firm for fitting of its products, Huddersfield-based Wood Auto will be the only UK
distributor for the brand.

MonarkDiesel’s market share is unknown, but a Wood Auto spokesman said it currently has 250 customers, while Wood Auto has around 2,000.

“It is a very harmonious coming together of two businesses,” he said. 

“Wood Auto wants to increase its diesel business and MonarkDiesel wants to grow its market share.”

Product distribution will be through auto-electrical businesses and motor factors, as well as garages.

The spokesman said Wood Auto does next-day delivery on 98% of stock.

MonarkDiesel is a recognised quality brand that diesel specialists will be familiar with. A £45 million business worldwide, it is sub-contracted to do diesel manufacturing for some big carmakers, the spokesman said. 

Wood Auto’s managing director Graham Heywood said: “We can offer MonarkDiesel a first-class national distribution service.”
