Mercedes-Benz is preparing a marketing campaign to promote a newly launched national fixed price repair scheme.

Dealers that have signed up to the pricing policy will be able to access material from the manufacturer's marketing tool system, to tailor for their own online, print and DMS campaigns.

The communications will highlight the transparency of the scheme, which will enable Mercedes-Benz owners to know in advance exactly how much they will have to pay for standard repair items. Items such as wiper blades, brake pads and batteries will now be available for the same, single fixed price within a model banding.

Mercedes-Benz is the first prestige car manufacturer to offer fixed price repairs to customers regardless of the age of their vehicle.

It will be available on five core model ranges initially, as well as Smart, with a view to cover the remaining models next year, when the manufacturer also intends to introduce additional repair items to the scheme.

“The aftersales market is becoming increasingly competitive and it is therefore imperative for us to highlight the value and attributes of our official workshops,” said Angela Shepherd, customer services director.

“Our communications will demonstrate that the benefits of fixed price servicing are literally perfectly clear as customers will be able to see from the outset of their enquiry how much, or often how little, the repair item for their particular Mercedes-Benz will cost.

“It is an approach that we’re confident will enhance the appeal of utilising the expertise of a Mercedes-Benz Official Workshop, where owners can enjoy the reassurance of knowing that their cars will be looked after by technicians trained and regularly audited to Mercedes-Benz standards and using the latest diagnostic technology and genuine parts.”
