Citroen dealer Duff Morgan in Norwich is adding its second outlet in taking over the Citroen dealership in King's Lynn.

The purchase from East of England Co-op is due to be completed on April 23. From that point, East of England Co-op will no longer be involved in motor retail.

Family-owned Duff Morgan has represented Citroen in Norwich for 26 years.

David Barratt, managing director, said: “The King's Lynn acquisition will sit very comfortably alongside our Norwich dealership, which has grown dramatically in the past 26 years.

“Despite the recently economic down turn our business is now stronger and more stream lined. The recession has placed us in the perfect position to expand across East Anglia.”

The company previously had dealerships at Thetford and Fakenham with British Leyland. It was now anxious to expand again, he said.

Co-op sold its Peugeot dealerships in Norwich and King's Lynn to Busseys and the Walker family respectively in February.
