The boss of a Leicestershire Ford dealership has been found guilty of 11 offences involving inappropriate touching of female employees.

Charles Archer of Archers of Ashby had denied the indecent assault charges but was found guilty by a jury at Leicester Crown Court.

He was released on bail and is due to be sentenced on October 1.

During the trial, Leicester Crown Court was told Archer had sexually assaulted and molested four members of staff during a 20 year period from 1989.

Three were trainees in their teens, while one was in her 20s.

Archer told the court he was tactile and maybe over-friendly towards his staff but insisted he had not deliberately touched the victims sexually.

He was cleared of a further four charges.

Ford of Britain said in a statement: "Ford has been kept up to date throughout Mr Archer's trial. In light of Friday's verdict we are working on the best option to ensure continued trading at the site."
