Anthony Hilton, financial editor of the Evening Standard and a Wincott Financial Journalist of the Year will be the guest speaker at AM’s next Executive Breakfast Club meeting at Simpson's-in-the-Strand in London on May 20.

Hilton will provide delegates with his analysis of the recovering UK economy, as well his views on the automotive retail market.

Hilton said: “My take on the economic outlook is that there are good reasons to be optimistic and that widespread pessimism is overdone.

“As the UK recovers from recession it traditionally has several years of above average growth.

“It is often not appreciated at the time in the aftermath of a downturn how well things are going. In the 1990s politicians were ridiculed for seeing “green shoots” but with hindsight they were right.”

Hilton is an author, broadcaster and lecturer, and has also served as a non-executive director of insurance and publishing companies. Delegates will have the opportunity to quiz Hilton after his presentation and can find out why the automotive retail industry is always presented in a negative light with the mainstream national press.

Delegates will receive a full breakfast at Simpson's-in-the-Strand in London and a chance to network and share best practice with senior figures in the UK’s automotive retail industry.
Attendance to this Executive Breakfast Club meeting is exclusive to senior dealer group executives.
