A franchised dealer whose business was targeted by thieves has hit out after the Crown Prosecution Service refused to prosecute.

Two young men were spotted on CCTV fiddling with alloy wheels on a Vauxhall Corsa at the Evans Halshaw Vauxhall dealership in Newport.

Shortly afterwards they were caught nearby with wheel bolts in their pockets after police attended.

However dealer principal Brian Edwards has been told by the CPS that the evidence is circumstantial and no prosecution will be made.

Edwards told the South Wales Argus the decision "makes a mockery of the system."
