LinkedIn is an under-used and under-rated social media platform which dealers should exploit to stay ahead of the competition, according to Philip Calvert, professional speaker, LinkedIn trainer and social media sales strategist.

Keynote speaker at this year’s AM Digital Dealer Conference Philip Calvert, founder of LifeTalk - the social networking site for financial services professionals, will demonstrate how dealers can harness the potential of LinkedIn to increase sales.

The conference, which takes place at the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon, Warwickshire, explores how to better manage social media presence; engage and develop an online community; identifies how different digital strategies can enhance online presence and boost search appearances; and apply the wealth of data and information available to make more informed business decisions.

As a social media entrepreneur, Calvert’s inside knowledge will demonstrate LinkedIn best practice to business professionals while showing how to avoid the pitfalls.

With examples of first class LinkedIn company profiles and common mistakes made by others, Calvert will arm delegates with the information they need to make a real impact on the network.

Calvert said: “People often think of LinkedIn as just a 'glorified job site' or a good way to keep in touch with colleagues, suppliers and clients.

“In fact, this does LinkedIn a huge injustice but the beauty of the site is most business people are unaware of its potential so those who develop a much wider understanding and apply some simple rules will easily steal a march on the competition.

“With around half of new vehicle registrations being company cars and dealers under pressure to grow custom among local businesses and entrepreneurs, LinkedIn offers a genuine opportunity which can reap extensive rewards.”

Clavert’s session includes several practical applications which can be easily implemented and will raise the profile of individual dealerships whilst connecting with local SMEs which will help businesses grow. Developing the dealership’s professional reputation is also key to becoming established in the local business community and Calvert will include easy steps on how to incorporate rich media such as images, photos, infographics and video as well as proven tips and strategies to increase appearances in search results.
