Infiniti models of the future could be tweaked to suit European markets following the appointment of Simon Cox as the new design director for Infiniti Design London.

Cox joins Infiniti after an automotive design career with Peugeot, Ford, Lotus, Isuzu and General Motors.

He said: “The new Infiniti design studio in London is a great opportunity to develop the Infiniti brand and products from a European perspective.”

The new studio is expected to open in October and Cox will report in to Infiniti executive design director, Alfonso Albaisa.

Shiro Nakamura, chief creative officer, said Infiniti made the decision to establish design studios in London, San Diego and Beijing to sharpen designs for specific markets.
