The showroom windows were smashed and some 70 cars damaged in an attack on the Chorley Nissan car dealership in Wigan last Thursday.

Police report that the overnight attack involved three hooded men who used sticks and sledgehammers to cause "criminal damage on a significant scale".

They were wearing dark clothing and one was wearing white trainers and was carrying a sledge-hammer.

Detective Constable Daniel Ritchie said: “There is no other way to describe these acts other than total and utter wanton vandalism.

“This is criminal damage on a significant scale and it is not acceptable."
