Marshall has appointed Jamie Crowther (pictured) as operations director.

Jamie Crowther will report to Marshall chief executive Daksh Gupta and will be responsible
for "driving the operational performance" of the motor group.

He joins Marshall following a successful career with the Vardy family, having worked first at Reg Vardy and, since its formation, at Peter Vardy. He was managing director at Peter Vardy for eight years and before that a director for Reg Vardy.

Gupta said: “This is a really significant appointment for Marshall and I am delighted that Jamie has accepted this new role. I have known Jamie for 12 years and he has a formidable track record of driving performance while growing businesses.

“Jamie joins us at the perfect time to help us strengthen the group following a period of fast growth. Our turnover has risen from an underlying £250 million to a run rate of over £1.2 billion.

"On the same basis, our number of colleagues has grown from 800 to more than 2,250, spread across 73 sites and 17 counties.

"He will help me and the senior team to optimise the motor group while we continue to look for good opportunities for further growth, in line with our strategy.”

Crowther joins Marshall on September 29.
