Johnsons Cars has acquired TH White Motor Group and adds the Jeep and Fiat Commercial franchise to its business for the first time as a result.

The deal includes a showroom at Hillmead, Swindon, which sells and services cars and commercial vehicles across the FCA range of brands – Fiat, Fiat Commercial, Chrysler, Alfa Romeo, Abarth and Jeep.

The acquisition takes Johnsons to 46 sites across the UK and it now represents 15 franchises, including Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Ford, Fiat, Fiat Commercial, Honda, Hyundai, Jeep, Lexus, Mazda, Seat, Skoda, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo.

The TH White site in Swindon has room for more than 20 vehicles in the main showroom and has space for 80 used cars. AM reported its opening in 2013 as an eco-friendly dealership with features designed to reduce its carbon footprint.

All staff from TH White's motor group will transfer to Johnsons, including general manager Peter James.

The deal is the latest from Johnsons following on from its Chambers Group and Alex Lawrie acquisitions in 2017, the recent opening of Mazda in Gloucester and Hyundai, Skoda and Seat in Wigan.

In 2015 TH White sold its other car dealership, a Land Rover outlet near Swindon, to Cambria Automobiles. It is now left concentrating on its lorry crane and engineering businesses.
