BMW Group UK has launched a new Accident Support service to co-ordinate vehicle recovery, repair and an insurance claim for BMW and Mini owners in the event of a collision.

Available free of charge to BMW and Mini drivers of any age vehicle, the new service will be activated automatically by software already installed to newer vehicles, while owners of older models will be able to call for assistance via a hotline which operates around to the clock.

Not only will the system provide a stress-free solution for motorists but will also ensure that vehicles are repaired at an approved BMW body shop.

Drivers will then have access to an online portal where they can book their vehicle repair at a convenient time and track their repair and the progression of the insurance claim.

A statement issued by the German premium car brand to coincide with the new offerings launch this week, said: “Drivers will receive a link to submit images of vehicle damage whilst at the scene, and if the vehicle is no longer roadworthy, Accident Support will organise an immediate recovery to a local BMW or MINI approved body shop and provide onward mobility.

“For non-fault accidents, the Accident Support team will begin an insurance claim on behalf of the driver and manage this process fully.”

BMW’s new service is being run in partnership with Enterprise Rent-A-Car and powered by the Enterprise-owned Entegral technology platform, and CAPS.
