MG Motor has continued to drive lead generation by prioritising its presence at large-scale public events as it continues to target 20,000 UK registrations.

The brand’s sales and marketing director Matthew Cheyne told AM that face-to-face marketing activity had succeeded in gathering a database of 5,000 potential MG GS customers ahead of its arrival in showrooms in June.

And the strategy to create a level of leads which defy footfall in its 78 franchised dealerships has continued at the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) and CarFest North, where Radio 2 DJ and former Top Gear presenter Chris Evans, paid a visit to the stand.

Cheyne said: “It’s important that, as well as supporting our growing dealer network with product placements, we continue with our national programme of taking the cars to the people.

“We relish the challenge to showcase our products, allowing people unfamiliar with the MG brand to have a good look at the cars we’re now producing.”

MG Motor recently achieved record growth in July and are determined to reach 5,000 sales by the end of the year.
