Volkswagen dealers can now accept orders for a range of new ID.4 variants, following the launch of the 1ST Edition model in January.

Prices for the new Pro Performance range start at £41,570 with a choice of three trim levels.

These models feature a 77kWh battery and 204PS electric motor, giving a total range of up to 323 miles.

Pure models, with a smaller 52kWh battery capacity, will go on sale in the coming months costing from £32,000.

The entry-level Life model is the first of the three pre-configured trims, with features sorted into fixed equipment packs to simplify the ordering process for customers, just as the ID.3 does currently.

The ID.4 Life includes ambient lighting, a 10-inch Discover Pro touch-screen system with sat-nav, heated windscreen and heating for the front seats and steering wheel.

Family versions add 19-inch alloy wheels, IQ.Light LED matrix headlamps, privacy glass for the rear windows and a panoramic sunroof. There is also a rear-view camera and keyless entry.

 

As the flagship of the current ID.4 range, the Max is equipped with a larger 12-inch infotainment screen, augmented reality head-up display, adaptive DCC dampers and a full suite of driver assistance systems, including Lane assist and Travel Assist. It also has sports seats with electric adjustment, memory and massage functions.

Joe Laurence, ID. family product manager at Volkswagen UK, said: “The ID.4 has officially arrived in series form with a punchy powertrain, big battery and equipment package that leaves little to be desired.

“The fact that we’re launching this just a few months after we shook up the affordable electric vehicle market with the ID.3 is testament to rapid growth in the BEV market. There’s more to come, too – entry-level powertrains, batteries and specifications will arrive in the coming weeks, which will see the ID.4 entry price fall to less than £32,000 with the new government grant.

Deliveries of the ID.4 Pro Performance are expected to commence during the first week of May.
