Stanley Cars has added a West Yorkshire location to MG Motor UK’s growing dealer network.

Family-run Stanley Cars has operated as a single-brand operation since it was started by managing director Tony Stanley in 1980 but will now add the MG brand to its existing Kia facility on Canal Road, Bradford.

Sales Manager, John Heptinstall, said that the introduction of MG had brought the business a franchise that it could grow with.

He said: “MG is great for us as we wanted to bring in a manufacturer that suited us and our philosophy. Whilst the brand is relatively small now, it’s growing and we’re very excited and positive about that, we’re really looking forward to getting started and seeing what the future holds.”

Stanley Cars has already got product placements, events and sponsorships lined up.

Heptinstall will be looking to take the MG range to the Emley Show, a well-known agricultural event in Yorkshire.

Matthew Cheyne, head of sales and marketing for MG, said: “Tony runs a fantastically professional dealership dedicated to great customer service.

“I was very impressed when I went to visit them and they are an excellent addition to the network.

“We want to attract more top-quality dealers like Tony, John and their team.”

In an interview at last month’s launch of MG’s new GS SUV Cheyne told AM that the brand was on course to have a network of 78 franchised dealerships by the end August and hopes to have a 90-strong network by the end of the year.

MG Motor UK achieved 3,152 registrations in 2015 and Cheyne believes the new product will provide a considerable boost, with 20,000 sales targeted within five years.
