Rowes Group has marked the “huge achievement” of marking its 85th anniversary with colleagues and customers.

The Plymouth-based retailer, which represents Honda and Suzuki across six sites on the south coast – Plymouth, Plymstock, Likskeard, Truro, Hayle and Rowes – marked the landmark with champagne and birthday cake across the business.  

Rowes’s sales and site manager, Tim Chatfield, said: “Everyone within the company is delighted to be celebrating 85 years of Rowes Group.

“This is a huge achievement and our dedicated teams are privileged to be part of such a well-established family run business.”

Building the business on the company ethos ‘Family Service you can Trust’ based on honesty, great customer service and excellent value, they’ve expanded from the original branch in Dobwalls (which is still going strong) to six dealerships across two counties and employ over 100 members of staff from the local areas.

As well as selling new cars, Rowes is also proud to offer over 200 quality used cars, six busy Service and MOT centres, and three Bodyshops, making them the one stop shop for all of your motoring needs.

The Cornish family business has grown to become one of the most successful Honda dealer groups in the country, winning the award for best small group in 2015 and 2016.

In 2014 the group also became the official franchised dealer for Suzuki Cars in Plymouth and East Cornwall.

The group’s accounts to December 31, 2016, show that turnover rose 16.8% to £35 million (2015: £30 million), with profit before tax of £967,316 (£744,475).
