Work is now underway on Waylands Automotive's multi-million-pound Volvo Cars Reading showroom and workshop, with expected completion in November 2018.

The Bennet Road-based site, just off the A33, will have eight showroom display spaces and a 50-car capacity used car forecourt.

Volvo Cars Reading opened in 2017 under the ownership of Waylands Automotive, headed up by John O’Hanlon, former chief executive of Ridgeway Garages.

O’Hanlon said: “We have been focused on establishing our reputation among Volvo drivers old and new in and around Reading, as well as delivering a first-class service.

"It will be a fantastic day when we can welcome our customers to a modern and comfortable environment which truly reflects the Volvo brand.”

The design will be in-keeping with the Scandinavian ‘Volvo Retail Experience’, and will encompass the customer-focused retailing concept by providing a coffee lounge and free WiFi.

This new approach includes teams of Personal Service Technicians (PSTs) who work on cars in pairs rather than individually, nearly “halving” customer waiting times. Customers will be able to see their vehicle being serviced in one of four bays.

Volvo Cars Reading can currently be found at Unit 1 Prosper Park, 5-7 Bennet Road, Reading.
