NK Motors is planning to more than double its current showroom space after transforming a former bodyshop into a new showroom.
The expansion at the dealership's site in Eldon Road, Chilwell near Nottingham, will also include a new dedicated van centre to accommodate Kia’s latest range of electric commercial vehicles.
Group managing director Sanj Kumar said: “These are exciting times for the NK group, and this expansion will look absolutely stunning when it’s completed.”
The investment will support the introduction of Kia’s new van lineup, after NK Motors was named as one of 60 dealerships across the UK authorised to sell the brand’s first-ever electric van range.
“We are delighted to be one of the few dealerships selected to be an official Kia van centre,” Kumar said. “And we expect our revamp at Chilwell will prove extremely popular with van buyers too.”
The modernisation plans also include significantly increased indoor vehicle display space, a wider range of new and used vehicles, and enhanced customer facilities bringing the site in line with the latest Kia design standards.
NK Motors Chilwell currently employs over 60 staff, but Kumar confirmed that “dozens more” are expected to be recruited across all areas of the business as the expansion progresses
The Chilwell site opened in 2008, earning national recognition with awards including Bodyshop of the Year, Retail Business of the Year, and Kite Mark status for accident repairs. A previous £2 million upgrade during the pandemic in 2020 helped cement its position as one of the brand’s top-performing UK sites.
The latest expansion project is set to complete later this year.
