Alfa Romeo has named Derby’s Beechdale Motor Group as its top car dealer in a COVID-hit 2020 at its annual Retailer of the Year Awards.
The group, which is also a Hyundai and Jeep franchisee, topped the Stellantis-owned Italian premium car brand’s ranking with highest sales volume in the UK network and excellent customer satisfaction figures.
Alfa Romeo registrations declined 29.2% to 2,417 (2019: 3,413) last year and are down 37.2%, from 661 to 415, to the end of April according to Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) data.
As well as delivering Alfa Romeo’s highest volume of sales in 2020, the brand said that Beechdale climbed the rankings thanks to its “unwavering dedication on delivering an excellent customer experience, particularly in these challenging times”.
Alfa Romeo UK country manager, Damien Dally, said: “The last 18 months have proved challenging on so many fronts, but the dedication and hard work Beechdale has shown in light of this deserves to be awarded.
“Delivering consistently high performance, exceeding sales targets and garnering excellent customer satisfaction in the wake of a global pandemic makes me proud to award Beechdale Alfa Romeo UK Retailer of the Year.”
Alfa Romeo retailers Thames Slough and Research Garage (Nuneaton) were also given honourable mentions for their sales volume in the brand’s Retailer of the Year awards, while Jordans (Hull) was commended for its performance against target.
