Claudia Winkleman launches Waylands’ new £5m Swindon showroom

Claudia Winkleman at Waylands Swindon Volvo showroom opening

Claudia Winkleman helped to launch Waylands’ new £5 million flagship Volvo showroom in Swindon at the official launch event.

Winkleman, the TV presenter and radio personality, hosted the event and shared her journey to electrification with her XC90.

Customers were treated to an evening of Scandinavian mocktails and canapes and live entertainment from musician Cat Delphi.

John O’Hanlon, Waylands chief executive and Kritian Elvefors, Volvo Car UK managing director, were both at the launch event.

O’Hanlon said: “The evening was a great success and it’s been a pleasure to welcome so many of our customers to the showroom.

“With the full model range on display, as well as having the rare opportunity to walk around our workshop, our customers have truly been able to experience this fantastic new facility.”

Waylands acquired Volvo Cars Swindon from Johnsons Cars back in August 2018.

O’Hanlon told AM earlier this year on the AM News Show podcast: "For Volvo we’ve now done four, Swindon is our fifth, and every one’s been multi-million.

"Unashamedly, we’ve been spending a lot of money in and around property, but that’s important because we want environments that our customers want to come to and our teams want to work in.

“I think you can demonstrate that if you make investments in the right places you can get the return and that’s what we’re working really hard on.”
