Dealers urged to include FCA compliance in Coronavirus sales process

FCA compliance should not be forgotten when dealers are revising their sales processes to meet the Governments guidelines for social distancing.

As showrooms are set to re-open from next month, FCA compliance specialist Automotive Compliance is urging dealers not to forget their compliance procedures.

As paperwork and e-sign pads have been identified as potential Coronavirus hot spots, Automotive Compliance has developed a totally paperless and contactless Compliance procedure.

The FCA rules provide flexibility to firms in a number of areas and they expect them to use this flexibility to support consumers to provide strong support and services to consumers during this period, ensuring they continue to be protected and that markets must continue to function well.

Paul Speakman joint founding director of Automotive, said: “The last thing a motor dealer needs in these challenging times is to allow FCA Compliance to slip as their current FCA process does not fit into the social distancing guidelines.

“While Motor Dealers are coming to terms with what staying safe looks like in a dealership environment, it is evident they will need to adopt new working procedures for many aspects of their business to ensure the safety of their staff and customers.”

The company’s ‘Covid-19 Safe Compliance’ online system is multi-platform compatible, whether PC-Based, iPad, tablet or mobile phone, and compliments whichever method of transaction the dealer is embarking on, whether that be online or a social distancing sale in the showroom, culminating in a physical showroom handover, click & collect or home delivery.

Speakman added: “As we currently role this out to our existing clients, we will be more than happy to carry out a presentation via Zoom to any interested FCA authorised dealers as they review their sales procedures, we are confident our systems will keep their staff and customers safe whilst strengthening their compliance too.”
