Jaecoo has confirmed that its 5 crossover SUV will be priced from £24,505 for the petrol version that is due to launch in October.

The new Jaecoo 5 follows on from the brand launching its 7 larger SUV, which has already sold 8,000 units since it went on sale in January.

The Jaecoo 5 will launch with a 145bhp 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine and a pure electric version will follow.

Victor Zhang, UK country director Jaecoo UK, said the 5 is a key addition to its model range as the business continues to build out its 75-strong dealer network.

Jaecoo describes the 5 as “delivering a premium SUV experience, without the bulk”.

The new model has a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating, level 2 autonomous features and 19 advanced driver assistance system functionalities  (ADAS).

There will be two trims at launch, with a Pure priced from £24,505, while the £28,000 Luxury option will top out the range.

The Pure model features Automatic Halogen headlights, a six-speaker Sony audio system, level 2 ADAS, six-way manually adjustable front seats, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard.

The Luxury trim adds an eight-speaker Sony audio system, cooled wireless phone charging, six-way power-adjustable heated and ventilated front seats and enhanced interior finishes.

Additional premium features in the Luxury trim model include ambient lighting, a tilt and slide sunroof measuring 1.45m2, a cooled front storage box and dual-zone climate control.

Additional Jaecoo-approved pet accessories for the 5 are also available to purchase directly from the dealer network.

All models come with a seven-year/100,000-mile warranty, whichever comes first, with no mileage limit for the first three years alongside RAC Home Start as standard.

Further details on the Jaecoo 5 EV will be announced in the coming weeks.
