Jennings Motor Group wants to see its ongoing fundraising efforts for Great North Air Ambulance service take off when it donates £100 from each new car sale to the cause.

The North East-based retail group will donate £100 for every new and used car sale across across its Ford, Ford Direct, Kia, Mazda, SEAT and Mitsubishi branches, as well as the company’s Gateshead and Leeds-based Harley-Davidson dealerships during a special day of fund-raising on Friday, June 23.

The company will also donate £15 for every test drive taken on the day.

Jennings Motor Group’s managing director, Nas Khan, became an OBE this year for his his charity work and contribution to the economy and is keen to maintain the group's charitable givging. He said: “We are very much looking forward to the event, which has been organised not only to help boost fundraising for our nominated charity – the Great North Air Ambulance Service, but also to celebrate two significant anniversary milestones."

This is the second consecutive year it has supported the charity, after raising more than £135,000 last year, and a unanimous staff vote to continue the support throughout 2017.

Great Northern Air Ambulance’s chief executive Grahame Pickering MBE said: “This is another excellent fundraising initiative from our friends at Jennings Motor Group. We’d like to thank them for their ongoing support, it really is making a difference across our region.

“The money raised will be spent treating the most seriously ill and injured patients, so we hope members of the public get involved.”

As part of this year’s on-going fundraising activity, the group’s Jennings Kia dealerships based in Stockton and Washington, have also donated a brand new Kia Sportage 1.6 GDi Level 2 model (pictured), worth more than £20,000, for the charity’s annual car raffle.
