Eden Motor Group is introducing new digital imaging technology at all 21 of its retailers to give it a competitive edge when presenting vehicle listings online.

As part of a new two-year deal starting this month with Auto Imaging, which is part of Citnow Group, Eden said it will be better able to present vehicle imagery “in a more consistent way, provide immediate and more sophisticated quality control of imagery, and help staff upload content more rapidly”.

The Auto Imaging technology gives real-time feedback on image composition and quality when it is captured, helping users to rectify issues as they arise and reducing time-to-web for vehicle listings.

Automation and efficiency are key elements of the Auto Imaging solution and once the images have been collected the app takes care of background replacement and creating a web stock video.

Auto Imaging will be working with Eden to monitor image accuracy and identify when a dealer may need assistance, with solutions managed by newly trained staff at each site.

James Kurd, operations director at Eden Motor Group, said: “Working with Auto Imaging has been very collaborative from the outset of the pilot phase.

“Our sales teams were onboarded seamlessly, helped by access to training schemes and online video tutorials.

“Getting stock online quickly is a key driver for our used car revenues, and the new technology is already making an important difference.”

Chris Gray, managing director at Auto Imaging, said visual assets are increasingly important for selling vehicles successfully online; with consumers expecting to see a wide range of static and video assets with every listing.

He said: “Meeting these expectations has created a significant and growing operational burden, one that often takes salespeople away from the job of selling.

“That’s why our technology is as much about streamlining processes as it is about optimising the breadth and quality of assets.

“We’re constantly developing our app in response to dealer feedback, and this new agreement with Eden will help ensure we can continue to help deliver positive outcomes for dealers and consumers alike.”
