Mazda has announced UK pricing and specifications for the all-new Mazda 3 hatchback, which is available to order now.

Prices start at £20,595 (OTR).

The Mazda 3 will intitially be offered with a Skyactiv-D diesel engine and a Skyactiv-G petrol engine.

The brand’s innovative new compression ignition Skyactiv-X powertrain will be launched later in the year.

CO2 emissions for the new 1.8-litre diesel range from 106g/km to 126g/km, with fuel consumption of up to 58mpg.

The engine develops 116PS and can accelerate the Mazda 3 from 0-62mph in 10.3 seconds. It replaces the existing 1.5-litre and 2.2-litre diesel engines.

From launch, the only other engine available will be the 122PS 2.0-litre petrol. It emits from 115g/km and can reach 62mph in 10.4 seconds.

Both engines are available with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.

When the Skyactiv-X joins the range, it is expected to develop 180PS and offer “diesel-like” efficiency.

Five trim levels are offered: SE-L, SE-L Lux, Sport Lux, GT Sport and GT Sport Tech.

Every model in the line-up features sat-nav, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus an advanced eight speaker audio system.

From SE-L Lux onwards, highlights include a reversing camera, smart keyless entry and heated front seats.

Sport Lux sees additional chrome detailing, a frameless rear view mirror and rear privacy glass.

GT Sport introduces black leather seats with power adjustment, a heated steering wheel and Bose audio.

The range-topping GT Sport Tech features a suite of additional active safety equipment, including a 360-degree camera and Driver Attention Alert with interior camera.

Safety features include Front Cross Traffic Alert and Cruising and Traffic Support, which assists with accelerator, brake and steering operations.

There is also Intelligent Speed Assistance, which can prevent unintended speed limit violations.

Mazda says the cockpit and chassis designs have been optimised for a greater driving experience.
