SsangYong is offering customers a three-year service plan for free for retail customers that take a test drive and go on to buy before September 30.

Inclusive in the service plan, which is administered by EMaC, is the first three scheduled services, two additional years of RAC breakdown cover and the vehicle’s first MOT.

Kevin Griffin, managing director at SsangYong Motor UK, said: “We appreciate that SsangYong is currently a niche brand in the UK market, and that some people won’t have heard of us before.

“To reinforce that we are a serious player with an outstanding model range - and to alleviate any doubt at all - we have launched our new retail campaign and urge people to “test drive their doubts away” with no obligation.

“The three-year service plan, which runs alongside our five-year warranty, presents an attractive, stress free option for buyers, especially at a time of economic turmoil.”

SsangYong Motor UK hailed its 2021 return to profitability, after seven years of losses, as a “major milestone”.

During the period, in which the business added 21 new retail partners, the UK operation, run by Gibraltar-based distributor Bassadone Automotive Group, delivered a 18.6% rise in turnover to £44.2 million and turned around a £4.7m pre-tax loss in 2020 to deliver a £506,000 profit.

Last year also saw the launch of the brand’s first zero-emissions vehicle, the Korando e-Motion SUV and the business is still looking to expand further with more franchised dealer partners to extend its geographic coverage across the UK.
