4 Kia Sportage

Kia Motors (UK) is investing £5 million on promotional activity on television, radio, web and print for the forthcoming Sportage.

Mark Hopkins, marketing director Kia Motors (UK), said: “Since its launch in 2010 the third generation Sportage has sold over 90,000 units and we are looking to build on this success with the All-New Sportage in our biggest marketing spend to date.

“The integrated campaign will highlight the new technologies and improvements that the All-New Sportage contains.”

Outdoor digital billboards showcasing the campaign will be set up in cities including London, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Leeds, Newcastle and Glasgow. This launched from February 1.

More than £4 million is being invested in a four month television campaign, which will demonstrate some of the latest innovative features in the car.

This will be going live tomorrow and running until May during live sport and drama on ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky Sports, Sky Living, Sky Atlantic, E4, More 4, Film 4 and Dave.

National radio will also be promoting launch events at Kia dealerships, featuring on Magic, Heart and Capital. The adverts will promote the ‘Big WOW’ event, which will offer customers a package with the first three services free of charge, if they choose to place an order on Sportage between February 5 and 29.

Kia has also formed an exclusive partnership with The Times and The Sunday Times, which will see the Sportage feature alongside several famous faces in both written and video features.

The national press campaign is live now.
