Peugeot’s 3008 SUV has been named as the ‘best car to own’ following positive customer feedback from owners who took part in the Driver Power Survey 2018.

Results published by the annual survey's official partner, Auto Express, showed that the PSA Group offering returned an overall average score of 93.88% across categories which took in aspects of ownership such as running costs, driving dynamics and reliability.

It beat the Kia Niro crossover (93.07%) into second place and the Alfa Romeo Giulia (93.06%) into third in the annual standings.

Auto Express reported that owners had told the Driver Power Survey how they think the 3008 owners looks fantastic, with the French SUV topping the exterior design and build quality category, adding: “The 3008 is practical, too, with excellent finishes for seat flexibility, boot space and storage”.

Unusually, Japanese brands were kept out of the top three places of this year’s survey, but featured heavily in the wider top ten.

Toyota products lined-up just outside the top three, with the Prius Mk4 (93.04%), Lexus RX Mk4 (92.99%) and Lexus NX (92.90%) all achieving impressive scores.

An impressive showing was also delivered by Kia's Sorento, the new Honda Civic and Skoda's Octavia, which all scored well with owners.
