First deliveries of the Audi A4 and BMW 3 Series-rivalling estate car will commence in July, the PSA Group-owned brand said in a statement.

Petrol and diesel engines are available from the launch. The entry-level car uses a 1.5-litre Blue HDI unit, which is the most efficient emitting from 101g/km of CO2.

A more powerful 2.0-litre HDI develops 160PS and emits from 119g/km of CO2.

The 1.6-litre petrol engine is offered in 180PS and 225PS guises.

In October, a plug-in hybrid model will join the line-up. Prices and specs for the alternative fuel vehicle (AFV) drivetrain-equipped model are yet to be confirmed.

The trim line-up mirrors that of the 508 saloon, starting with Active trim which features 17-inch alloy wheels, 3D Navigation with live updates, electric driver’s seat-base and lumbar adjustment, automatic headlights and DAB.

In Allure trim the 508 SW gets active suspension, blind spot monitor and keyless entry with push button start. Inside, there is a 10-inch infotainment screen, electric driver and passenger seats and a 180-degree colour reversing camera.

Sporty GT Line models add full LED headlights, while the GT features adaptive cruise control, a Focal premium audio system and nappa leather upholstery.
