WMS Group appoints new UK finance director

Robin Cundell, UK finance director at WMS Group

Warranty provider WMS Group has appointed Robin Cundell as its new UK finance director.

Cundell's responsibilities will include working with the senior team implement the business strategy and ensuring compliance and control in-line with FCA regulations.

His appointment follows the retirement of Rani Ponnuthurai and the restructure of the business’ senior management team to support parent company Opteven Group’s substantial growth aspirations for its UK operations.

Craig Grant, managing director at WMS, said: “Following the restructure of our senior team earlier this month, we’re in a strong position to spearhead our future growth plans whilst ensuring customer experience remains at the heart of all that we do and we look forward to working with Robin as we strive to meet those aspirations.”

The company said Cundell joins WMS with a wealth of global experience having spent more than 15 years in senior finance roles – including seven years with large brands, such as Whitbread and Costa Coffee.

Commenting on his appointement, Cundell said: “WMS is on a journey to become the UK’s leading warranty provider and I’m delighted to be joining such an ambitious, forward-thinking organisation as it strives to create the best warranty and associated insurance products on the market.

“With the backing of Opteven, WMS has invested heavily in its offering over the last two years, and I’m looking forward to being part of this next chapter in the WMS story.”
