Michael Bell, CEO, Available Car and Simon Proudler, CFO, Available Car

Simon Proudler has been promoted to chief financial officer at Available Car after eight years with the independent used car supermarket group.

Proudler joined Available Car in 2014 as an accountant, progressing to group accountant in 2018, before being promoted to chief financial officer in January 2022.

He has 17 years’ experience in the automotive industry, with nine years working for franchised dealer groups prior to joining Available Car.

Michael Bell, Available Car CEO, said: “I am incredibly proud to announce the promotion of Simon Proudler to chief financial officer at Available Car.

“Our family has entrusted Simon to help shape the future of Available Car alongside myself. He has a wealth of knowledge in the industry and of Available Car and has helped to guide the company through the challenges of the last few years, to set us up for a fantastic 2022.”

In a AM dealer profile, Bell said he believes his car supermarket group can 'get through anything', in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

Available Car said it has grown rapidly over the last 20 years. It opened its first used car supermarket in Castle Donington in 2002, followed by Sutton-in-Ashfield in 2007, then Cannock in 2012, and most recently, Leeds, West Yorkshire in January 2016.

Proudler added: “Available Car has been a huge success since its story began 20 years ago. It continues to be a destination of choice for buying a used car, thanks to our customer focused approach.

“I am delighted to be appointed as chief financial officer of this fantastic organisation and look forward to playing my part in helping the business continue its growth alongside our strong management team."
