Ron Brooks Motor Group is adding Chinese EV manufacturer Xpeng to its expanding brand portfolio, becoming one of the first partners in the UK to represent the premium Chinese brand.

The new Xpeng showroom is set to open on 1 September at the group’s prominent Pentagon Island site in Derby.

The site, which was purchased last year following a period under short-term lease, is undergoing significant redevelopment to accommodate the new addition.

Once complete, Xpeng will become the fourth brand at the location, transforming it into what the company describes as a “super centre for automotive and future mobility within Derby.”

Chief commercial officer Tom Slack said: “Being one of the first partners in the UK to have access to this brand is an honour for the business. Our first showroom for Xpeng will open at our Derby Pentagon Island site, which we’re continuing to invest in as a destination for car buyers.”

The addition of Xpeng marks another milestone in a period of rapid growth for the family-owned retailer. Over the past 18 months, Ron Brooks has launched and acquired several new businesses, resulting in turnover more than doubling. Revenues are now projected to exceed £100 million.

Ron Brooks currently represents Toyota, Suzuki, and newly introduced brands Omoda and Jaecoo across sites in Derby, Ilkeston, Mansfield, and Leicester.

The company has worked with Toyota for over 50 years and Suzuki for more than a decade, but is increasingly expanding its footprint through new OEM partnerships.

Slack added: “We’re proud to still be a family-run business and one of the fastest-growing automotive retail groups in the UK. Xpeng’s arrival further strengthens our commitment to future mobility and innovation.”
