Skywell UK has strengthened its dealer footprint in eastern England with the appointment of three new franchise locations, in partnership with long-established retailers Abbeygate Cars and JS Holmes.
Marking its 50th year in business, Abbeygate Cars has added Skywell to its portfolio at two sites in Wymondham and Attleborough, Norfolk.
The Wymondham showroom on Norwich Road offers a full sales and aftersales experience including an EV-qualified workshop, trained technicians, and a dedicated parts department. Meanwhile, the Attleborough site, situated between Thetford and Diss, extends Skywell’s presence across the Norfolk region.
Gareth Bailey, operations director at Abbeygate Cars, said: “Our partnership with Skywell is a fantastic opportunity and a new chapter for us in both our Wymondham and Attleborough showrooms. We join Skywell at an exciting time with the BE11 family SUV and innovative models to come. We look forward to showcasing the brand around Norfolk.”
Further west, family-owned JS Holmes has introduced Skywell to its Wisbech St Mary dealership. The newly refurbished showroom features Skywell’s growing EV line-up alongside new and used commercial vehicles, backed by aftersales facilities, including an accident repair centre, EV-ready workshop, and recovery service.
Alex Holmes, sales director at JS Holmes, said: “Partnering with Skywell reflects our commitment to the future. Their EV technology and innovation align perfectly with what we aim to offer our customers. We’re proud to be part of Skywell’s journey.”
Skywell has also added a new approved repairer site in North London, via the EV Service Hub in Tottenham. Specialising in hybrid and EV maintenance, the high-spec workshop supports fleet and taxi operators, with the capability to handle warranty repairs and ongoing service work.
David Clark, general manager at Skywell, welcoming the latest appointments, said: “At such a significant milestone in both companies’ histories, we are thrilled to welcome Abbeygate Cars and JS Holmes to our growing UK network. Both are respected, family-owned businesses with deep roots in their local communities. Their passion for electrification and customer service makes them ideal Skywell partners.”
“We’re also delighted to expand our repairer network with EV Service Hub - their investment in people and facilities ensures EV drivers receive expert care and value.”
With these additions, Skywell UK now has 13 active sales locations, with further expansion planned for eastern Scotland, Manchester, Suffolk, and Kent by the end of 2025.
