Online used car sales start-up Cazoo has hired BCA to prepare and photograph the used cars it will retail.

It has signed a long-term, exclusive agreement with BCA for a dedicated vehicle preparation site in Corby, Northamptonshire, which will be refurbished later this year into a vehicle processing and imaging facility with capacity to store more than 6,000 cars and prepare over 50,000 cars per year.

"Having a dedicated preparation site will allow us to achieve the highest standards and deliver the UK’s best used car buying experience,” said Cazoo founder and chief executive Alex Chesterman, who was previously one of the founders of online property firm Zoopla.

BCA's executive chairman Avril Palmer-Baunack, said the automotive services group is delighted to have entered a long-term agreement with Cazoo at the Corby site.

"We look forward to working with this exciting and innovative automotive start-up and supporting their business needs with our expertise,” she said.

Last month Cazoo, which secured £30 million of funding in 2018, also signed up BCA for logistics and vehicle refurbishment.

It plans to launch to consumers later this year, and has been building up its senior team, tempting executives from Paddy Power, MADE.com, Tesla, Auto Trader and Manheim.
