Big Motoring World founder Peter Waddell is experiencing a “proud dad moment” as his son, Jack, prepares to open his new car showroom this weekend.

JW Autos will open its doors to customers at its newly-created showroom at Ballard Business Park, Cuxton Road, Rochester, this Saturday (May 28) with a stock of 170 vehicles for sale.

Waddell, the entrepreneur behind Big Motoring World and Carzam, took to LinkedIn to share his reaction after taking a tour of the facility yesterday.

And he commented “they say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” as he celebrated his “proud dad moment” on social media.

On JW Autos’ website background to the formation of the business, which has a stock of cars ranging from a £2,900 Ford Fiesta to a near-£50,000 Mercedes-Benz CLS, states that “family history and passion for the automotive industry were the catalysts behind starting the business”.

Jack Waddell said: “Our family has a long and well-established name in Kent for motor vehicle sales and from a young age, I was weaned into the world of cars.

“It’s a passion that I’ve never put down since and among all the disruption that was thrown our way across 2020, it was time for me to pursue my own path and dream to set up my own used car business.”

Prior to its new showroom opening, JW Autos has already grown from a fledgling operation stocking three cars and now has big plans to grow, according to its website.

It claims to offer “competitive prices without compromising on quality” and provides customers with a three-month warranty and a 12-month MOT with all vehicles.

Jack Waddell’s growth plans for JW Auto are coming to fruition as Big Motoring World accelerates into its own period of ambitious growth.

Last month the used car supermarket group attracted investment from private equity firm Freshstream in a move that should fund a growth strategy targeting new locations across the UK.

The business kick-started its plan with the acquisition of Peterborough-based SW Car Supermarket in October last year and opened its new 3.5 acre, 450-vehicle store earlier this month – expanding its footprint to five used car dealerships.

Last week Big Motoring World also appointed former Sytner Group chief executive and chairman Laurence Vaughan as its new executive chairman.
