Mitsubishi Motors UK has completed its internal restructuring programme with the appointment of two general managers and a new director of aftersales.

Stephen Blackburn, son of David who co-founded Mitsubishi UK importer Colt Car Company, is promoted from general manager to director of aftersales and business development. He takes responsibility for developing and implementing new business opportunities as well as overseeing aftersales activities.

"We need to build upon a well-established parts and service business to maintain our competitive advantage," he said. "Despite the current difficult trading conditions we will continue to build good relations with more customers."

Mike Thomas is promoted to general manager of product planning and incentives and Lance Bradley becomes general manager of sales operations.

Mr Thomas, who joined Mitsubishi last October from General Motors (Asia), will develop marketing incentive schemes, product planning and pricing.

He said: "We will be streamlining the vehicle range to ensure customers have the best possible choice of vehicles and to make life easier for our dealers."

Mr Bradley brings to Mitsubishi 12 years' industry experience from Ford. He praised Mitsubishi dealers for their "positive attitude and outlook", and added: "I am here to make sure our dealers are able to make the most of every opportunity."
