North West dealer group Swansway, has made the final shortlist, alongside just other five national companies, for the Growing Business of the Year Award, in the 'large company, (over £50 million turnover)' category.

This year's Real Business Growing Business Awards, are in association with Lloyds Bank and supported by the CBI.

Group director Peter Smyth said, “This is the first time we’ve entered an award category outside the automotive sector, so to make the shortlist in such illustrious company is a real coup for us.”

Last year’s winner was online property company, Zoopla.

Joining Swansway Group in this year’s shortlist are Graze, GAP Group, First Utility and Softcat.

"We are up against national businesses, some of which are wholly based online; it’s therefore very satisfying that our business, traditional, in the sense that we are a motor retailer and repairer, but, with a forward-thinking, family twist, has made the shortlist.”

The winner is announced on November 25.

Swansway is set to turnover £420m in 2014.
